Introducing Tarveen Forrester, Kickstarter’s New VP of People

With a strong commitment to inclusivity and a remarkable track record in people management, Tarveen is set to play a vital role in evolving Kickstarter’s people strategy.

Today, we welcome Tarveen Forrester as Kickstarter's new VP of People.

In this role, Tarveen will spearhead key areas, including talent acquisition, professional and leadership development, diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging, performance optimization and management, employer reputation and branding, organizational effectiveness, and change management. She will report directly to our CEO, Everette Taylor.

Tarveen joins Kickstarter from Tastemade, where she held the role of Head of People Operations & Diversity. Under her leadership, Tastemade dramatically increased the racial/ethnic diversity of their internal staff from 13% to 40%, an accomplishment that transcends industry standards and underscores Tarveen's commitment to inclusivity.

Notably, Tarveen led the launch of Tastemade’s Be the Change initiative, an online guide to provide information and resources that highlight ways you can support marginalized and underrepresented communities. She and her team also launched Tastemade Together, an Employee Resource Group (ERG) that aims to engage, educate, and empower Tastemade employees around diversity and inclusion through speaking engagements.

Tarveen has also held roles at Nike, Experis, and Touch of Modern.

"I’m excited to start a thrilling new chapter with Kickstarter," Tarveen said. "With initiatives like the four-day workweek model, the company has already proven that it can think outside of the box when it comes to supporting its employees. I’m passionate about creating a culture where everyone feels valued and empowered, and I'm eager to contribute to what Kickstarter has already started to further drive community, innovation, and inclusivity within its walls."

Kickstarter's CEO, Everette Taylor, added, "We're thrilled to have Tarveen on board. Her dedication to inclusivity, innovative thinking, and her exceptional ability to create human-centric processes are perfectly aligned with our values. The people who keep our business running are just as important as the business itself, and I’m really looking forward to seeing how adding Tarveen’s voice to our leadership team can create more synergy between our business strategy and our people strategy.”

Welcome Tarveen!
