Make 100: Dream Big, Make Small
Kick off the year with a creative project and join our Make 100 Open Call.
It’s that time of year again. Make 100 is back, and with it comes your chance to launch an exciting new project. What’s Make 100, you ask? Well, every January, Kickstarter encourages creators to try out smaller projects offering 100 rewards. Whether you work well under creative constraints, are a first-time creator, or have a downright whacky idea that just might work, this is your big chance to try a small project.
We’ve seen all kinds of inspiring (and weird) projects over the years. Think 100 concrete birds, 100 tiny printing presses, 100 LPs of a lonely whale song — and now, we want to see yours! Make 100 has even become a classroom favorite, with students using it to shape and share their own original creations. As long as your project follows Kickstarter’s rules, the only limit is your imagination.
When you launch a campaign during Make 100, you're not just another project; you’re part of a curated program, which often means increased support from our 23M+ backer community.

Why join make 100?
Make 100 embodies the best of what Kickstarter is all about: lowering barriers to entry, forging connections, and nurturing vibrant, diverse creative spaces. As a participant, you’re joining a community of like-minded creators who share your passion. This camaraderie often leads to collaboration, cross-promotion, and mutual support. We also see a higher success rate with open call projects.
Start your Make 100 journey by launching a project with a 100-unit reward between January 1 and 31, 2024, then submit your live or draft link using this form. Make 100 projects will live in a curated collection all month, making it easier for backers to find and support your work.

Make 100 is intentionally open-ended, and you might have a few questions — so we’ve rounded up answers to the most common ones below.
Instead of offering a single reward capped at 100 backers, can I offer multiple rewards that add up to 100 backers?
Yes. Your Make 100 project can include one reward tier limited to 100 backers, or several limited tiers whose total adds up to 100 backers. Just make sure your project launches between January 1 and January 31 and follows Kickstarter’s rules to qualify for Make 100.
Can I modify my existing or planned campaign to make it fit within Make 100?
While it’s possible to add a reward tier capped at 100 backers to any live Kickstarter project, Make 100 is designed to inspire creators to get started on something new. If you’ve already planned something specific, we don’t recommend modifying it just to take part in Make 100.
Should I set my funding goal based on getting 100 backers?
Not necessarily. While we encourage you to aim for 100 backers, you should set your funding goal based on the actual cost of making and shipping your rewards and running your project.

How long can my project last?
Your Make 100 project can be live for up to 60 days. Most Kickstarter projects last about 30 days. Just be sure your project goes live between January 1 and January 31.
Why should I launch my Make 100 project in January?
Only projects launched during this window will be included in the official Make 100 initiative. Our team will be focused on running and promoting the initiative through January and February.

If I’m launching a project at another time, can it still be part of Make 100?
No. All Make 100 projects must go live between January 1 and January 31. As long as your project launches during that window, it can last any duration you like (up to 60 days).
How will Make 100 projects be promoted?
All qualified Make 100 projects will be featured on Kickstarter.com via the Make 100 tag and in a dedicated project collection. Select projects will be featured in Kickstarter newsletters and on social media. Learn about how your project can become a Project We Love or get featured on Kickstarter’s homepage.
