UFC and WWE champion, Olympic medalist, and Hollywood actress Ronda Rousey is stepping out of the ring and into the world of comics.

The crowdfunding campaign for Ronda’s new graphic novel “Expecting the Unexpected” has launched exclusively on Kickstarter.

Ronda’s debut in the comic book world is nothing short of extraordinary. Written by Ronda Rousey and set to be published by AWA Studios — an Eisner & Ringo Award-winning graphic fiction publisher and entertainment studio — the graphic novel follows a newly pregnant hit woman with a bounty on her head. Amidst the chaos of fighting off wave-after-wave of assassins, she navigates falling in love and tackling both personal and professional challenges in the action-packed saga.

By launching on Kickstarter, Ronda is able to give her fans the chance to grab the graphic novel before anyone else and also the chance to grab special editions that won’t be available elsewhere. It’s a fan-first rollout that is made possible through the power of crowdfunding. 

The comics industry is BIG on community, so as Ronda makes her debut, she’s shining a light on other projects she admires and wants to encourage her fans to support too.
