What is a Superbacker?

The Kickstarter ecosystem thrives for two reasons, Creators and Backers. Creators are the imaginative individuals behind innovative campaigns, while Backers are the supportive individuals who rally behind them. However, we actually have another level of supporter on the platform called—Superbackers. 

In this article, we will delve into the importance of being a Superbacker, how you can become one, and the transformative power of supporting creative projects on Kickstarter.

Superbacker 101

A Superbacker is a highly committed user who goes above and beyond to support Kickstarter projects. To be considered a Superbacker, one must have backed 25 or more projects with a pledge of at least $10 within the past year. These users are the backbone of our backer community, with many offering advice to creators, guiding other backers, and helping to introduce projects to new audiences.

What special features do Superbackers have access to?

• A Superbackers Badge will appear on your profile and comments. You can toggle this badge on or off in your Account Settings.
• The latest happenings and inside news from Kickstarter by subscribing to our occasional email updates. Our updates are designed to help you stay up-to-date with the latest developments and trends in crowdfunding, as well as keep you informed about new and exciting projects that are being launched on our platform. 
• The opportunity to test new features and providing feedback.
• Join our exclusive invite-only events to learn, share, and celebrate with like-minded backers and creators.
• Get a chance to be featured in Kickstarter emails, blog posts, social media,  and more!
• Access to the Quoted Comments, using this feature, a Superbacker can highlight a specific area of text on a project’s campaign, up to 300 characters, and start a comment.
