Project Update #3: Shipping Just Got Easier, $7 Billion in Pledges, and Our Favorite Moments of 2022
In this episode, Kickstarter CEO Everette Taylor shares news about our partnership with Easyship, which will make reward fulfillment more affordable and convenient. Plus: celebrating $7 billion in pledges to Kickstarter projects, what we loved about 2022, and our plans for the new year.
Hey everyone!
Welcome to the latest episode of Kickstarter Project Updates, where we share the journey of how we’re building Kickstarter.
Wow, the past month has been super busy. I had the opportunity to spend time with lots of creators at events like PAX Unplugged and Art Basel, and it's been great getting to continue working with the Kickstarter team on our 2023 planning — we've got big things in store for you in the new year.
We just launched our new partnership with Easyship, which I'm really excited about. Shipping Kickstarter rewards can be a huge undertaking for projects of any size, and we're constantly thinking about ways to make it easier and more cost effective. Now, when you use Easyship as a Kickstarter creator, you'll have free access to discounted shipping rates, planning tools, and a global warehouse network to drive down costs. We've also made important improvements to our own backer reports and added new fulfillment reports to help make planning simpler.
As a community, we've just reached an incredible milestone together: Backers have pledged $7 billion to Kickstarter projects. Seven. Billion. Dollars. It's amazing to reflect on all of the creators, small and large, who have been able to make their dreams come true and bring their creative visions to life.
Check out the video for more details on all this, plus a round-up of some of my favorite moments of 2022.
I'll see you again next month, right here. Until then, don't hesitate to reach out to me on Instagram and Twitter — I really do love hearing from you.
Happy holidays!
