Shape the Future of Kickstarter by Joining Our Community Advisory Council
Kickstarter creators: Apply now to join the second cohort of our Community Advisory Council, where you can make a direct impact on Kickstarter’s features and initiatives.
We're thrilled to announce that the application period for the second cohort of the Kickstarter Community Advisory Council is now open. Kickstarter believes in the power of community, collaboration, and feedback, so we're inviting creators to be part of this influential group that directly shapes the future of Kickstarter.
Why is the Council important?
The Council plays a vital role in representing the diverse voices of our global creative community. By joining the Council, you will have the opportunity to directly influence and guide Kickstarter's policies, features, and initiatives. We believe that creators should have a seat at the table when it comes to shaping the platform they rely on, and the Council is an important way this happens.
During its term, the first cohort of the Council accomplished an incredible amount of work, significantly shaping many aspects of Kickstarter's future.
How does it work?
The Council comprises a diverse group of creators from different backgrounds and artistic disciplines. Members will meet over video (or potentially in person, as conditions allow) six times per year for two hours per meeting, and will discuss and provide feedback on various topics. These discussions will help shape the platform's policies, community guidelines, and new features.
Council members will each receive an honorarium of $5,000 per year in gratitude for the time and expertise they share, and must commit to being a part of the group for at least one year and must commit to attend all six meetings.
Why should you consider applying?
As a creator, your experience and insights are invaluable to us. By joining the Council, you'll have a direct impact on shaping Kickstarter's direction, policies, and product. You'll have the chance to connect with fellow creators, learn from their experiences, and amplify your voice within our community. It's an opportunity to make a real difference and help Kickstarter better serve creators of all kinds.
Who can apply?
In order to be considered for the Council, you must have run at least one Kickstarter campaign, be a Kickstarter account holder in good standing with an account that is at least one year old, and be comfortable with your participation in the Council being publicly announced. Council members should be experienced in their fields, passionate about Kickstarter, and believers in our mission and charter. We want Council members who will help us to do what's best for our community.
Ready to make an impact?
If you're a Kickstarter creator who is passionate about making a positive impact within the creative community, we encourage you to apply for the second cohort of the Community Advisory Council. Submit your application by July 18, 2023 at 11:59pm EST. We can't wait to hear from you and work together to shape the future of Kickstarter!
