Throughout March, Kickstarter is proud to spotlight interviews featuring the inspiring stories of women creators who have used our platform to bring their ideas to life.

Francesca Cavallo is a New York Times bestselling author, serial entrepreneur, and activist. She is the author of the Good Night Stories for Rebel Girls book series, which raised $675,614 on Kickstarter with help from 13,454 backers. Good Night Stories for Rebel Girls is packed with bedtime stories about the lives of extraordinary women from the past and the present, woven together with illustrations by women artists from all over the world. In 2019, Francesca left Rebel Girls, which she had co-founded with author Elena Favilli, to start a new company, Undercats, which aims to radically increase diversity in children’s media.

Author and journalist Jessica Hopper spoke with Francesca for our Spotlight on Women Creators series.
